LAST MILE SUPERVISION

Geolocation and supervision of the loading and unloading process

THE NEED_

The client uses bulk beer distribution vehicles from the production plant to the establishments, with direct unloading of the product from the tanker truck into the establishment’s storage tanks.

This method of distribution offers superior beer quality, is more convenient, more sustainable, and less expensive.

The tanker trucks used are true industrial facilities on wheels, with a level of automation equivalent to that of the production plant.

The onboard cold chain and carbon dioxide control systems maintain the properties and quality of the beer throughout its entire journey to the point of sale.

And the automated system of pumps and valves makes the loading and unloading processes fast, clean, and efficient.

Adequate supervision of this distribution process from the production plant to the catering establishments is essential, and the objective is for the operation of the beer distribution trucks to be fully digitalized and recorded.

THE ADVANTAGES _

  • Monitoring the quality of beer products beyond the factory and all the way to the customer’s facilities.
  • Greater control over downloads, allowing support for drivers during downloads and achieving an improvement in the quality of service perceived by the customer.
  • Real-time truck location awareness and route planning.

THE SOLUTION _

Implementation of our MONITORING and PERFORMANCE service applications with additional GPS tracking and geolocation functionality for supply trucks.

Users can monitor the progress of the beer distribution process by tanker trucks and beer deliveries to points of sale through the platform, using data obtained from an IoT Gateway device installed in each truck.

This data is continuously transmitted to ii40Services servers using an independent 4G connection, where the information is processed for subsequent review and analysis.

MONITORING  __

  • COCKPIT
The main monitoring control panel has been customized to provide the following information:
      • Beer temperature in each individual tank
      • Beer carbon dioxide pressure
      • Instant GPS geolocation of the truck
      • Additional information on the status of the facility
  • ALARMS
An alarm engine has been activated to monitor the temperature during travel and the beer loading and unloading process at origin and destination. Generated alarms are displayed on the platform and sent by email and phone to designated service and operations personnel. This allows timely action to be taken in the event of any incident.
  • ANALYSIS CHART
All operational and equipment status information is stored in a database, from which historical information is obtained in the form of a graph for analyzing incidents and process progress.

PERFORMANCE  __

Beer temperature and carbon dioxide pressure values are critical to maintaining beer quality. These values are recorded and can be accessed to effectively monitor product quality all the way to the customer’s establishment. A Reporting Service automatically summarizes KPIs and operating indicators.
